Colorado Broadband Office
The Colorado Broadband Office leads a statewide effort to expand broadband coverage and quality for all Coloradans. Access to affordable and reliable broadband service is critical to advancing Colorado’s economic growth and competitiveness. High-speed broadband can create new jobs and attract new industries, expand markets for new and existing businesses, enable better access to educational opportunities and resources, facilitate the delivery of healthcare services, and support public safety. Broader deployment of broadband infrastructure and services will improve the quality of life for Coloradans and support the state’s global economic competitiveness.
Digital & Delivery
In the State of Colorado, we are dedicated to leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to improve public services, foster innovation, and ensure the ethical, equitable and responsible deployment of emerging technologies.
With the growing popularity of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), we see its potential to transform how we work at the state, driving efficiency, innovation, and new capabilities to serve the public interest and contribute to the overall well-being of Coloradans. At the same time, we understand GenAI raises new risks requiring human judgment and oversight to review for accuracy, bias and completeness.
Formed in 2019, Colorado Digital Service (CDS) is a diverse, cross-functional team of senior engineers, human-centered design specialists, product managers and procurement and contracting specialists within OIT. Our mission is to help to mature state agencies’ approach to delivering high quality products and services to all of Colorado by focusing on people, process and technology.
We practice modern software delivery practices, including human-centered design, agile iterative development, DevSecOps and modular active procurement and contract management. We believe these methods allow us to focus on outcomes over optics and orient on finding answers to problems rather than jumping to solutions.
Teams within data programs and strategy are dedicated to harnessing data to improve the lives of Coloradans. They promote data-driven decision-making across state agencies by providing strategic leadership, data governance and data management services. The team works to ensure that data is accessible, secure and used ethically to drive innovation and efficiency in public services. The Statewide Longitudinal Data System program, COdata, also resides in this team.
Deskside Support Services help agencies stay productive by providing devices that perform and are protected. We handle the full support lifecycle and device management so you don't have to.
The OIT Service Desk is the first stop for state agency staff to request IT help. Whether an application won't work, your computer won't start, or you just need information on a tech topic, our team is ready to help. We provide support from analysts who understand the technology state agencies use to serve Coloradans. If we can't provide the help you need, we will ensure your issue is routed to the appropriate technology team within OIT.
Downloaded by more than 2 million Coloradans, myColorado provides secure and convenient access to state services anytime, anywhere! The app’s contactless Colorado Digital ID is an electronic version of your driver's license or state-issued identification (ID) card to show proof of ID, age, and address within the state.

The Technology Accessibility Program (TAP) was created to help state agencies to provide equal access to state services, programs or activities. OIT, through TAP, gives state agencies tools and resources to implement up-to-date accessibility best practices.
In today’s fast-paced digital ecosystem, software reliability isn't just a technical requirement—it is the foundation of user trust and operational continuity. Our testing services provide comprehensive, end-to-end quality assurance (QA) that ensures your applications, systems and platforms perform flawlessly under any conditions.
By integrating automated and manual testing methodologies early in the development lifecycle, we mitigate risks, reduce downtime and accelerate time-to-market. From rigorous security and vulnerability assessments to performance, scalability and user acceptance testing (UAT), we protect your digital investments and deliver seamless, secure and resilient user experiences.
Executive Director's Office
The Communications Office is a creative and collaborative group that provides a full range of internal and external marketing communications (marcom) strategies to tell OIT's story and support our people, programs, projects, products and services. Uniquely experienced in customer and employee communication, marcom, branding, creative services and media relations, this dynamic team plans and executes marcom initiatives to educate and engage a diverse stakeholder group to elevate trust, transparency and satisfaction.
Focused on integrity, strategic support, timely processing and financial reporting, Financial Services supports OIT's efforts to securely enable effective, efficient and elegant delivery of government services through technology and trusted partnerships with agency customers in order to better serve Coloradans. In addition to managing the acquisition of goods and vendor services for OIT, Financial Services is statutorily responsible for purchasing, contracting and managing vendor performance and contract compliance of information technology for Colorado's executive branch agencies.
Together with coworkers at all levels, Human Resources works to foster a culture that inspires employees and prioritizes development and learning for all. Working across OIT's statewide workforce of more than 1100 employees, we facilitate Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) efforts to ensure all employees have a voice and are heard. We partner with leaders on organizational design to match business needs and create the best employee experience to attract and retain people who advance our mission and values. Human Resources strives to build engagement through teamwork and prioritizing a balance of professional and personal life so employees take pride in delivering critical services valued by all Coloradans.
Security & Infrastructure
Data operations at OIT oversee data architecture, data analytics, data platforms and open data, including the Colorado Information Marketplace.
Our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team plays a unique role at the state level, coordinating GIS efforts across Colorado. This involves providing resources, enhancing the availability of geospatial information and fostering relationships with partners around the state. Last December, they completed a project that illustrates how these technical efforts can assist counties that lack dedicated GIS resources in their operations. We are sharing this story now to highlight the long-term success and impact the application has demonstrated over the past year of deployment.
Created by Colorado statute, the Information Security Office (ISO) is charged with protecting the state government by defending and deflecting cybersecurity risks. To ensure a secure Colorado and help safeguard state systems and the data entrusted to us, this team develops statewide information security policies, standards and guidelines, and directs security audits and assessments in state agencies.
The ISO also provides information awareness and training programs to help state employees understand their role in securing state assets.
These teams ensure a strong infrastructure, including our data centers, cloud operations, state networks, database services and more. They support the state’s key platforms, provide transformational solutions and help remediate technical debt.
Nearly 120 deskside support services personnel are co-located with agency customers to provision devices and troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
In a digital-first environment, business agility is only as strong as the foundational technology that supports it. Our platform services teams deliver modern, resilient and scalable solutions to power innovation and accelerate growth. We specialize in designing, deploying and managing unified platform environments.
